Chairman's Message
Urban Engineers provide physical definition of the urban habitat, by planning, designing, building/constructing, operating and maintaining the infrastructure including buildings and roads. This infrastructure, on one hand, facilitates the social and economic interactions within the urban habitat through ubiquitous transportation and communication systems. On the other hand, it also directly affects physical health and ecological balance within the urban system through the provision of drinking water, air quality and waste treatment. The development of sustainable and functionally dependable urban habitats is the need of community. On the other hand, the need for highly educated professionals to confront and manage the rapid urbanization is pressing.
